| 04 Dec 2007 - One Week In - Simple Update: Loving it. |

| So I'm one week into the challenge. And I will admit, I am liking it. My problem is I am concerned I am only liking it because of the brilliance of the Apple design team. It is great to look at, has some nifty features (the night light for keyboard that is light sensitive IS brilliant) and is very usable. The annoyances of not having HOME, END and PG Down and Up keys is getting to me - Pc laptops in the main, FIND ROOM for these, and I'm finding all progam use a different combination of keystrokes. On top of that, the one button mouse when not using an external one is quite annoying. I love to right click for COPY/PASTE, here i need to press crtl to get the meny - Apple, let it go, INTRODUCE A RIGHT KEY - be different, make it a top and bottom key or something, but really, i just don't get that. Reasons I still have to use my PC: Microsoft Access: I use several ODBC Connections to access database tables in MySQL, SQL and Postgres databases, so i need to use that to view and edit those tables - (ANY suggestion as to a program to use here, Quite open to it!) 2GB Logger - not designed for Mac, a real bummer Some software - specific to radio industry, also just for PC. Apart from that, its just my MAIL ARCHIVES. I have used a program called PC 2 MAC, to convert all my archives, however there was an issue i will cover later in more detail, so they are NOT converted yet. Bottom line, it's going well. I shall keep you informed, but for the most part, if you can help or advise - PLEASE DO! |
