06 Feb 2008 - Mac v Dell Price Comparison
Well a lot of people have asked for this, a comparison in PRICE between a MAC and PC.

It's VERY hard to do, because there is ONE Mac price, and a million different PC prices.

So, I've gone with DELL.  Because i was able to pick a machine, customise it and try and compare.

A few notes - PRICE IS NOT EVERYTHING, you see the form factor, the look, the keyboard, the usability, the OPERATING SYSTEM, all make a difference.

But, just looking at specs, my advice is go with the MacBook - IF you are ok with 2 USB, IF you are ok with no backlit keyboard (one reason i WOULD by the Pro).

Interesting stuff, you see for me, the extra USB and the card reader built in on the Dell could well be dealbreakers for the Mac

All good, but the main point I think in all this is that yes, Macs are slightly more expensive, but they just work and with no viruses.
BMWs are slightly more expensive too, because thay are better. The Mac user isn't generally quite so anal about prices preferring instead value for money in which the OS counts for A LOT!
