04 Sep 2008 - Google Chrome - Chewing your bandwidth
Now, I haven't done any scientific testing here, lets be clear.

BUT, on reading that the new CHROME BROWSER would 'scan for software updates every 25 hours, and download malware addresses every 30 minutes', i thought -"how much bandwidth will that take up?"

So, I connected to the net.  Turned off Google Talk, and fired up Chrome.  No page loaded.  just Chrome.

In 1 hour and 45 minutes, 8 MB has been downloaded.

UPDATE - 3 hours gone, 12MB downloaded
UPDATE - 2 hours of FIREFOX - Same test - 202KB downloaded
UPDATE - 2 hours of Internet Explorer - Same Test - 26KB
(what's it all mean? who knows, perhaps MORE is better because it means you are more protected??)

OUCH.... keep your eyes on that if you are on a low level plan...

Then again, that's nothing compared to what Microsoft can chew up with their updates!
