14 Apr 2009 - The PROBLEM with Blackberry?
When you rely on a device that itself relies on a network above and beyond the Mobile Carrier you use - that is the BIS - or Blackberry Individual Server Solution that allows you to get your gmail or other personal mail - you end up with no end of risk.

Today, across the world, LOTS of people are reporting outages, and no-one seems to be a problem, but amazingly Optus (my carrier) didn't acknowledge it right away... still on hold to them.

Hint to RIM - Perhaps send a PIN message to users when these things happen?  I wonder if that's possible?

But wow, how reliant we can be on one thing...

UPDATE - Optus tell me to do a SOFTWARE UPGRADE!

What the? How on earth could that be necessary!!

I'll give it a try, but think it's a bit over the odds!
