| With Apple making millions from the iTunes/iPhone App store, every mobile maker and their dog is keen to get into the game. Lets face it, Apple is popular, but there sure are a lot of other mobiles out there. Blackberry have launched their App World (STILL not available in Australia), today Nokia launched their Ovi Store. Ovi, if you are wondering, means DOOR in Finnish, and Nokia of course is Finnish (I tried to tell Ron Casey that in the late 90's but he refused to listen!) So this is the Doorway to a world of applications and entertainment for Nokia users - I guess. Nokia's approach though is not just to sell programs (App's) and music, it's looking to fully integrate your mobile experience. Syncronise your contacts, calendars, files and more with OVI - all of it makes great sense, and frankly, its the missing link for Nokia of late. I still think Nokia need to jump leaps ahead with their UI (User Interface) which is way behind the pack leaders Apple, but that will come - in time. Billing is the standard credit card style, PLUS it seems you can bill items to you mobile account with Telstra, Optus and Vodafone - very nifty If you have a Nokia, well worth a look - http://ovi.nokia.com or store.ovi.com on your Nokia phone (device!) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
