| 07 Jul 2009 - Google Real Estate |

I've said time and time again how amazing google is, and how they continue to impress with their product and service offering. That continued this week, with the launch of integrated real estate listings within Google Maps. I haven't moved house for some years thankfully, however reflecting on the many times I did prior to that the pattern was the same. Daily checks of domain.com.au and realestate.com.au - and signup for email alerts. Make a list, set it all up and plan a Saturday drive around! Recently I've noticed excellent map integration within these sits so you can see the property you're reading about on a map, but that's noting Google trumped them all again. Type a suburb and prepared to be blown away by RED DOTS showing properties on the market either for sale or rent. No need to go into detail, you'll work it out. Needless to say you can filter by listing type, price, rooms etc etc. AS ALWAYS with these listings there are properties listed with no price, or $1 which is annoying, but hey, its a 'birds eye' view of an area, and the properties on the market. Truely remarkable stuff, and a great way to bring data into a visible format which makes it useful to the end user. |
