| When I wrote last month About some great Blackberry Twitter Apps I honestly thought Tweet Genius was leaps and bounds ahead of the rest. And it was. Until now. Timing wise, this is a very interesting time - you see TweetGenius slipped back into private beta after announcing a partnership with developers 'beejive' for the next generation TweetGenius. That will be exciting, because the last one was amazing. But yesterday, I started noticing the tweets around like this: "Just got #TweetCaster by Handmark FREE for my BlackBerry in exchange for this tweet. Get yours here: http://tinyurl.com/TweetCaster" Lots of them. Turns out, that if you go to: http://www.handmark.com/company /apps/tweetcaster/ you can sign up for a download of a new app called "tweetcaster" The catch? an annoying tweet you HAVE to send to get the download link. The link is sms'ed to your phone, so they're taking it seriously for sure. The viral concept is one we'll see more and more of in the future, but how is the product. Well first impressions - BAD - I couldnt log on! Authentication error - having changed my password just days ago, I thought it was me, but it wasn't. AND the app doesnt allow you to escape out of that box back to home. Call that a bug. Tonight, it worked a treat. WOW, this is a super fast app. It closes FAST and opens FAST, that is the first and most impressive thing. Secondly - Multiple account support. I know this is not relevant to many, but it is a feature of many iPhone apps. It's done well, basically allowing you to switch, which is good, because some software allows you to make mistakes much easier and send from the wrong account. Look, this is the best of the bunch by far - It has location like Uber, and its interface is slick like TweetGenius. I'll be sticking with Yatca to notify me of @replies, but TweetCaster has become the app of choice for browsing the friends timelines, searching and even trends.
