| 20 Dec 2007 - Foxtel Remote Record - How does it work? |
 |
I've mentioned a few times on my show that I regularly use Foxtel's remote record system on my IQ at home.
Today, I thought i'd SHOW you how it works.
There are two versions. 1/ ONLINE 2/ 3G Mobile
Firstly, Online.
If you have Foxtel IQ, you should go to the Foxtel website - www.foxtel.com and click TV GUIDE Click REGISTER in the top right of screen, and using the account information you can register an account - if you have any problems, I'm sure they will help you over the phone - they certainly did for me. Once you are registered, returning to the TV GUIDE, you simply LOGIN.
Once logged in, you see the same as everyone else.
Now, simply FIND the program you want to record - either browse the channels, or search.. I always Search for my favourite programs, Amerian Chopper, Man Vs. Wild, Property Ladder and the Lab with Leo - i find those each week and set them to record (in the near future, the Tv guide will stretch 28 days ahead!, but it is just 7 days at the moment)
Once you see the program you want, you simply CLICK - and DRAG it across to the right hand side of the screen.
When you are done finding your programs, click the RECORD button - moments later, it's done - that booking is beamed down the line to your ACTUAL FOXTEL IQ box, and when you get back home, you will see those programs in your planner.
Be wary, if there is a problem (like a clash with two othe programs already recording at that time, it WILL NOT tell you that)
That's it! - Photos below.
Now, for mobile users, this is just as easy, and just as amazing.
Any 3G phone will get you to the Foxtel TV Guide - if you are a Telstra NextG customer its easy, you just click the Foxtel button.
Scroll down to TV Guide Home.
LOGIN using the username and password you setup online
Choose a channel category
Then choose the Channel.
Either choose the current or next program, or a block of time.
Then find the program you want, select it, and choose RECORD ON MY IQ.
It's really that easy.
If you have IQ, you are MAD not to be using this - its a free service.
Have fun!
