30 Jan 2008 - Free Music Downloads - too good to be true!
People often say "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"

And that is spot on.

On the weekend, the papers here in Sydney reported about a new FREE MUSIC DOWNLOAD service to rival Itunes with the number of songs they have on file.

Called QTRAX - you download the player search and off you go.

After a few days of delays, the software was finally available for download.

I haven't done it - for a very simple reason.  The Qtrax story was full of holes.

Qtrax claimed they had agreements with the major lables, Warner, Emi, Universal etc.

But they don't!

So what is it?

Its a new verison of Kazaar, or Limewire, just from reading about it that's what i think.

A P2P network download program, P2P being Peer to Peer, which, if it was a free music solution, would mean People sharing music with People, no 'middle man', which is basically everything the lables have been fighting against for ages.

My Advice - stick to iTunes or Bigpond music.  You might have to pay, but its Legal, and quality.  Simple as that!
