31 Jan 2008 - HD CONTENT - DO YOU NEED A HD TV - NO! Cheat through it!
A lot of people ask me if they can watch the HD content being offered by various networks... but they don't have a HD TV..

The answer, simply, is YES

Take Seven for example, they are doing a Chat Show on HD only, so if you are interested in that, but can't afford the thousands of dollars for a HD TV, then pop out and get a Digital Set Top Box, a few hundred dollars at MOST, and tune it in.  You can watch whatever you like.

The CONTENT itself is made to an amazing quality, and you can RECEIVE that, it's just that you choose to plug a plain old everyday SD or CRT TV into the unit, so once the HD content gets to your place, it is DISPLAYED in SD or CRT... so what!

If you are currently hooked up to an Analogue aerial, get off! get up, get a Digital Set top box, if only to improve the picture quality  - you will be blown away..

I don't have a HD tv yet, and it will be a while off yet, but I will be enjoying 'HD' content, on my current tv!

hi
i reckon that hd isnt terribly good, the shows are all repeats and the content is worse than the streamline channel.

Yeah, totally agree with you Trevor. I bought a HD Set Top Box for $99 from KMart a couple of months ago and use it on my widescreen tube TV. I won't be buying an LCD TV for a year or two.

I haven't been able to track down another HD STB from KMart for my sister however ALDI recently had one for about $100 and you can pick up on one Ebay for around $100-$150 if you bid wisely.
