25 Mar 2008 - Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000
I do enjoy reviewing technology products and seeing how they fit my style or usage.  This one is an interesting one because i REQUESTED it.  Often its a case of something new, arriving, testing and off it goes.

Anyone who has read stuff of mine of late will know i LOVED the backlit keyboard on the MacBook Pro - so I searched for that for my PC.

The Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 had just that.

This package is PACKED with features, which I've listed below, but here's the gist.

Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, both offer excellent connectivity and are both very comfortable to use.  The Mouse is an outstanding design which really does fit well in the hand.

The Keyboard however is FLAT and I think I am far too used to the upright style of more common keyboards.  Plus, it is not full size, and I did find myself missing the numeric keypad to the right.  Its more like a laptop keyboard layout.

The Backlighting is great, but for a desktop, when do you ever use that - it was of no use to me at work, so i guess it really is more for the Entertainment PC user who uses this to control their home entertainment System.

To be honest, for the price (several hundred) this is not for me - it really is easy to use, to setup and the slot in to charge function and additional USB ports really prove quite handy.

If you are not a regular keypad user or do your computing in the dark.  Check it out.
