| Thanks to my HP Pavilion dv6000 (Thrive Edition), I am now experiencing Windows Vista as a regular user. I have to say, first impressions are good. This laptop features Core 2 Duo CPU at 2.2GHz, with 2 Gig of Ram, and I think that is a great specification for Vista. Installation went great, setup was faultless. My only problem occurred when installing Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate. You see this notebook came with a Trial Version of Office. The Product Key for my Ultimate did not work on the trial, so i tried to install the product. ERROR! Crisis over, I un-installed the trial version, and installed the Product from DVD, it worked great. I now have Office 2007 Ultimate, as well as Adobe Creative Suite and Bigpond Broadband all running, and it was all within around 3 hours (Adobe Creative Suite is a MASSIVE program!) Having since continued using the notebook for a week I've found the VISTA experience a welcoming one. YES it is hard to find some things I am used to, things in the control panel etc. But you find them pretty quick I think. Also, there is a new way of displaying all the file windows like windows explorer, and that takes some getting used to. The START menu too takes a bit of getting used to, but again, after just a week I am comfortable with that. Looking at the time it has taken me to get comfortable, I would compare it to changing from PC to MAC, the change is that different. But once you are there, it is easier to remember the things you've learned, unlike the Mac which is a complete life change! I'll shoot up some pictures of the installation process and such - here's to a good relationship with my HP Pavilion dv6000 running Windows VISTA ! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The only way to correct the product is to restart the computer. I have check for virus, extensively. D Pallas, Wollongong add your comment: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
